Papa Eudes popped up 5 times in a 2014 daily meditation book by Dr. Paul Thigpen, a lay theologian who was once appointed by the USCCB to serve with 30+ others on their National Advisory Council. You may know him from his work with Catholic Answers or his 35 published books.
- SJE’s pages in a fairly recent theological encyclopedia of mariology
- Fr. Benedict Groschel’s book on the history of Christian Devotion (2010), with a nice segment on SJE’s two-hearts devotion.
- A quiet moment in the Catholic Digest magazine (2019) with a nice Eudist quote.
- Pray Without Ceasing (2006) pulled a quote that makes SJE sound like a big fan of hesychasm.
- A secular(?) encyclopedia about religious phenomena, with a section on the Sacred Heart (2007). Upside: they’re aware that St Margaret Mary Alacoque wasn’t the only player in the game. Downside: their material is either flat-out inaccurate or imprecise to the point of being so. Understandable, perhaps, from their less-than-impressive sources. 80-90% are devotional books from popular-works publishers (Tan, Ligouri, OSV) rather than historical or scholarly in any way. They could use a good correction letter being sent their way.
